Connecting to a Vehicle

1. First, determine which Electrical Interface is required by the vehicle.
2. Connect the vehicle to the computer using the cables and electrical interface. (Assemble the hardware.)
3. Start the vehicle or turn the ignition to the ON position if you are unable to start the engine.
4. Launch ProScan.
5. Enable Communications by clicking the lightning bolt icon on the Toolbar or by selecting it from the File menu.
6. Wait for the Communication Status panel of the Status Bar to indicate: "Connected to Vehicle." (This will take a few seconds as ProScan downloads required vehicle-specific information.)
7. Select the desired functionality from the Active Tool combobox in the Toolbar.
